I went to my first wedding in Costa Rica last Wednesday. BT and Yinsy tied the knot on Playa Beisanz. What a beautiful spot to get hitched. It was a tad bit cloudy, but not even rain could’ve ruined the day. Luckily it held out anyway though. He was beaming from ear to ear and she had happy tears floating in her eyes all night long.
Most everything was simple – two bouquets of tropical flowers, one on each side of the bride and groom; all the guys in loose, untucked shirts; the ladies in any kind of pink they wanted; a 15 minute ceremony followed by a pasta dinner at a local restaurant; chocolate favors wrapped with a heartfelt thank you card.
I’ve been to all kinds of weddings – simple and understated and super fancy. Either way all that “stuff” is just logistics. The real standout, and always the best part, is love and friendship. On this day two families of different cultures and countries coming together and friends from all over supporting, and just hanging, together. Plus, a Costa Rica futbol game on somewhere in the middle to get the Pilsens flowing! Some shots of the day…
