Just living – day by day, not for tomorrow, next year or the next decade
Eating too much, but not worrying about it too much either
Slowing down to enjoy nature
People watching, people listening
Thinking, but not over-thinking anything
Not rushing through the days (even though they seem to be going by faster than I would like)
Living in the moment
Being content with “enough”
Learning a new language, slowly, but ok with that too
Communicating with people without a common language
Missing the things I love most
Practicing my active listening skills
Detaching from the things I realize I don’t really love or need
Smiling every time I hear music, which is a lot
Breathing fresh air
Walking, a lot
Taxi-pooling (colectivo), bussing, saving on gas and emissions
Buying only what I need to survive (and an occasional pedicure)
Writing fewer lists (using less paper, killing fewer trees)
Understanding Pura Vida and trying to subscribe to it
Wearing shorts!
Wearing a bikini! Holy whoa!
Enjoying the sweetness of organic fruit and other foods
Living a simpler, better, more conscious life unattached to a bunch of stuff
Spending time with myself
Doing nothing at times and not feeling guilty about it
Watching sunsets
Meeting people from all over the US and the world
Witnessing true gratefulness. I watched a guy on the beach hold his plate of food up over his head and to the ocean before eating.
Writing this blog in the hopes that people enjoy it in some way.
Hopefully inspiring others to be unafraid of change or jumping off the prescribed timeline that society plans for us.
Just to name a few...
