Josie came back. A young girl with her life ahead of her she’s finishing school and looking forward to the future, but living by her own rules in the meantime. She was here for a while and returned to the US for a semester. Now she’s back for time with her man and Spanish classes.
I’ve got a lot of people that I consider real friends – high school, college, Newport, post college, work, etc. I’m fortunate to be able to say they are true supporters. But making friends till this point has been different. You go to school or work and learn to get along with those around you. You accept most people until they do you wrong.
Now, with age and experience on my side I choose who to keep and who to let go regardless of the situation. Sometimes it’s just a gut feeling, the right kind of energy that makes you want to know someone more. Sometimes it’s admiration of their achievements or ambition for the future. Perhaps it’s commonalities in upbringing or current status.
Here in this transient town, unsure of how long you might be staying, living among people doing their own thing, finding companions to trust in and connect with can be difficult. But, Josie is one who asks how you’re doing and then waits for your answer. She listens and responds giving you your time. She is genuinely concerned about your well being. I´m haooy she´s back, she’s made my cut!
