Another busy week. Spent all my time with Patricia. She’s so my speed and style. We seem to have a lot in common and being together just comes easy. Next week will be another transition as she’ll be moving on to her next stop after we visit Arenal for the weekend. This week we lunched, shopped, yogi-ed, danced and beached it.
The weekend started with a busy Friday - class, lunch with Patricia, Jesse (who might be the funniest kid in the world) and Seth, horseback riding and a fabulous dinner in the mountains, met Nicole at the futbol game, salsa lesson then fiesta at the Disco till 3am to celebrate MASS’ (Manuel Antonio Surf School) futbol championship.
Saturday consisted of watching Spanglish (with subtitulos) studying on the beach. Yes, studying. We then met Juan Carlos, my fabulous landlord, more on him later, to go to see Marta Fonseca on the pier. A mini barcrawl followed – Republik, Tutu (gay bar), the Disco (love that place). The two old ladies pushed the envelope a bit more and stayed out till 3:30. Go team!
Sunday was an absolute perfect day...the sun was shining and the temp was bearable. The swells subsided, the water was the perfect cooler and we splurged on a Leche de Coco. Dante gave us a free umbrella and free Spanish lessons as we read our revista (Cosmo en Espanol). Before retiring for the eve we finished off the day with a sunset glass of vino (another splurge) at Mariposa (Butterfly, possibly my favorite Spanish word. Love how it sounds and reminds me of the constant change life puts us through, continually helping us to arrive in the place we should be. Brings happy thoughts of Miss D and her teachings of beauty, strength, courage, transformation and freedom). How fitting that the sky was a perfect pink.
